National Organizations
Defend Marriage, an organization founded by BYU Law Professor and international family policy expert Richard Wilkins, posts extensive information on the importance of the institution of marriage and why we must amend the U.S. Constitution to protect marriage and the family in the United States.
The Heritage Foundation, one of the leading conservative think tanks in the country, has excellent and extensive information on the family and the on need for a constitutional amendment to protect marriage. Note especially the material by Dr. Pat Fagan, one of the premier family policy researchers in the country.
Institute for Marriage and Public Policy
Headed by marriage policy researcher and syndicated columnist Maggie Gallager, IMAPP posts a range of useful information and research on marriage and related policy issues.
The Marriage Law project is a public interest legal association and research and analysis project that examines a range of legal issues and problems related to marriage. The MLP engages in litigation, does legal research, sponsors conferences and acts as a legal resource for other groups and individuals defending marriage.
United Families has been actively defending marriage and the family for more than 25 years and is the organization that sponsors Defend Marriage. One of the publications posted on their site, “Family Issues Guide to Sexual Orientation,” is an excellent and extensively documented review of research and policy in this area.
The World Family Policy Center at Brigham Young University is one of the foremost organizations in the world in support of the family and marriage on the international level.
